Ahoy there!

Sorry about the delay in replying to e-mails but we entered Georgia on Monday and it was like a communications black hole - no mobile phone signal at all. Anyway we are out of Florida and so our tax problem is solved. Georgia is more scenic than Florida particularly as we can actually get off the open ocean and see the area. On Wednesday we did a section of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) which was lovely. We found a nice anchorage so stayed an extra day so Andrew could do some maintenance.

Today (Friday) has not been one of our best sailing days as we have caught the effect of Tropical Storm Arlene which is heading into the Gulf of Mexico and may mutate into a hurricane. Because there is a strong area of high pressure over the Atlantic it is putting up a fight with Arlene! We came out of our sheltered anchorage and it got a bit choppy but we just thought it was wind against tide. Although the wind wasn't particularly bad the swell was. Sharon has bruises on flesh she didn't even know she had!   The bruise was so impressive that Andrew wanted to take a photograph and post it on the internet! We cut our losses after three hours and headed inland to Breakfast Creek. We found the only place we could anchor safely and took three attempts (in the pouring rain) until it set. Hot showers & stiff alcohol followed! Don't think it's all sunshine & margaritas out here! Tomorrow's forecast is worse so we will either stay put or toddle a bit up the ICW. Hopefully we will be in South Carolina beginning of next week.

Anyway to change subject Sharon wants your Grannies!

One of the problems we have is with laundry. We have regular access to washing machines but the washing cycles are not very long and so we can never get washing really clean, particularly engine oils & sun tan lotion. That and the fact we don't think much of US stain removers. So any old fashioned remedies that might help for soaking & washing would be appreciated. A free weeks cruise for the one that works best!

That's it for now will be in touch from the Carolinas .

Warm regards

Sharon & Andrew
